This policy covers all users and the use of the computer labs at LHA.

Using the LHA computers and internet access indicates your agreement with our acceptable use policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the computers or internet access at LHA.

Lamar Housing Authority residents, staff, and guests are welcome to use the computers and internet for any lawful, worthy, and ethical purpose.

All users must use appropriate names and language at all times.

All users must be considerate in their use of shared community resources.

The following examples show unacceptable use:

using another person's system, userid, password, files, or data without permission

sending or storing mail judged to be inappropriate, harassing , or abusive to others

violating the privacy of other users, including corrupting or destroying other users' data

copying copyrighted material, except as permitted by law or by contract of the copyright owner

accessing, downloading, printing or storing obscene, sexually explicit images, text, or services

displaying images, sounds or messages that could create an atmosphere of discomfort or harassment for others, especially those considered obscene or sexually explicit

using computers for commercial gain or private profit

LHA staff, mentors and interns will monitor users for appropriate and acceptable use.

LHA considers any violation of acceptable use principles or guidelines to be a serious offense and reserves the right to copy and examine any files or information on LHA systems allegedly related to unacceptable use, and to protect its network from systems and events that threaten or degrade operations. Violators are subject to disciplinary action that may include loss of service.
